Americans optimize nearly every aspect of their lives—yet eye health remains a critical blind spot. Despite heavy daily screen use, most skip annual eye exams, often relying on ineffective online screenings.
To change this, the American Optometric Association launched a collaborative, social-first campaign that reframed eye care as a performance advantage. By partnering with trusted voices across sports, social, and media, the campaign met audiences where they seek guidance—through the creators, athletes, and platforms they rely on.
At the center was professional baseball player Kike Hernández, who discovered that correcting his vision transformed his performance at the plate—sharpening his ability to track spin, depth, and pitch trajectory. His story was brought to life through a dynamic hero video with an AOA optometrist, connecting eye health directly to real-time performance.
The campaign expanded through creator partnerships on TikTok and Instagram, where individuals shared personal eye health stories—from screen strain to first-time glasses—bringing authenticity and relatability to the message. Media collaborations further amplified reach, extending the campaign into cultural and editorial spaces.
Together, these partnerships generated millions of impressions, strong engagement, and meaningful traffic to the AOA Doctor Locator. More importantly, they helped shift perception—turning eye care from an afterthought into an essential part of how a new generation performs and shows up every day.
