ESPN Brasil and the University of Southern Santa Catarina brought one of Brazil's forgotten football legends back to life by using artificial intelligence to faithfully reconstruct historic Metropol matches from photographs, newspapers, statistics, historical documents, and eyewitness accounts. The result was a Historical Digital Twin that transformed lost moments into authentic audiovisual experiences. Instead of using AI to imagine the past, the project used it to restore it, proving that innovation can preserve cultural heritage and allow new generations to witness stories that had previously existed only in memory.
