Household paper goods are a vital but commoditized category; brands are top-of-mind when people have run out, and purchases are driven by price and promotions. To give Kruger brands a meaningful role beyond function, we needed to tap into the emotions behind real usage moments: the messy, chaotic moments of family life. In Canada, hockey is more than a sport: it’s a cultural thread linking communities across regions and languages. Local rinks are gathering places where families connect, and traditions form. Minor hockey fosters teamwork, resilience, and belonging, shaping identity through shared experience and community. Hockey is Canada’s Game. For five years, the Kruger Big Assist (KBA) program has removed financial barriers to youth hockey, helping more kids play. Our job was to build emotional connections between Canadians and Kruger Products: Cashmere, Scotties, Purex, Bonterra and Sponge Towels. Introducing Rocked: an emotional, storytelling-driven film celebrating Kruger’s products and the hockey parents, who together quietly power their kids through the unglamorous realities of youth hockey: tending to injuries, cleaning up accidents, fixing what gets broken, and getting their kids back out there. Without parents, and the paper products they reach for, the game doesn’t continue. By showing the authentic role Kruger's products play in these moments, the brand becomes the unseen helper behind what parents do best. Just like in hockey, the assist doesn't get glory, but it's essential. The film is anchored by the stomp-stomp-clap of "We Will Rock You" by Queen, an anthem heard in rinks across the country, from minor league games to hockey's highest levels. Sung by children, where "we" are the kids and "you" is the parent, the song takes on new meaning, capturing the experience of being a hockey parent. Shot in a docu-real style, as if cameras had been embedded with real families and teams for weeks, the film aired during the Canadian Olympics broadcast and other major sporting events. The campaign was a huge success. Hockey parents see themselves in the story, associations recognize the environments, and fans appreciate the spotlight on those behind the scenes. It has deepened awareness of KBA as more than a funding program and strengthened Kruger's brand health: Brand link: +7%, exceeding target by 133% Brand awareness: +9%, exceeding target by 80% Purchase intent: +24%, exceeding target by 140% Brand interest: +28 pts vs. norm
