Diversity in Storytelling
TIM is a long form documentary from Arc’teryx that focuses on Tim Sackbauer, a skier with Down syndrome whose life in the mountains is shaped by much more than sport. Created collaboratively with Tim and his family over the course of a year, the film moves beyond familiar disability narratives of limitation or inspiration. Tim was given the space, and at times the camera, to help shape how his own story was told. It is an intimate portrait of his humour, family, independence, challenges, community, and love of skiing. By placing Tim’s voice and experience at the centre, the film expands the picture of who is seen, valued, and recognized as part of mountain culture. The film is directed by Jordan Findlay and produced by Boldly.
