In January 2026, the Bulls honored Derrick Rose’s legendary basketball career and lasting impact on Chicago with Derrick Rose Jersey Retirement Night, a celebration at the United Center that went beyond a traditional jersey retirement. The 40+ minute post-game ceremony, where Rose’s No. 1 jersey was unveiled in the rafters, highlighted Rose as the person and the player. Rose’s former teammates and coaches took the stage and spoke about Rose before he addressed the crowd directly, thanking the city that raised him and the fans who stood by him throughout his career. By centering Rose’s voice and the people who shaped his journey, the Bulls created a broadcast and arena experience that honored not only his accomplishments but also the resilience, family, pride and perseverance that define his legacy.
