On August 2nd, 1959, Pelé scored his most beautiful goal. Due to the lack of videotape in Brazil at that time, there is no footage of it. Until now. Google Gemini and the Pelé brand partnered to bring this “lost” piece of football history to life. Combining eyewitness accounts, more than 3600 historical artifacts, local actors reenacting the play, and Gemini's technology, we reconstructed the goal with meticulous accuracy. The full creative process was turned into an 11-minute documentary available on YouTube. The project is now in the permanent collection of the Pelé Museum in Santos, Brazil, filling a crucial gap in football history.
