What happens when a 150-year-old baseball organization creates a rom-com specifically for TikTok?
The Chicago Cubs created Nine Innings to Love, MLB's first TikTok-first scripted series, a 17-episode romantic comedy filmed at Wrigley Field and told across the nine innings of one Cubs game.
Inspired by the general-admission Budweiser Bleachers, where you never know who might sit down beside you, the series was built around something Wrigley Field has done for generations: bring people together.
Written and created in-house by Cubs Productions specifically for TikTok, Nine Innings to Love used vertical storytelling, short episodes and cliffhangers to build a bridge between baseball and audiences who simply believe in a good story, while showing them that a story like this could happen right here, at Wrigley Field.
The series extended the connection we create at the ballpark into a new kind of social fan experience, inviting new audiences into our world through story rather than the game itself.
You don't need to love baseball in order to fall in love with Wrigley Field.
