This project explores how people experiencing suicidal thoughts often develop a form of tunnel vision, where pain feels permanent and death appears as the only possible outcome. In that vulnerable state, many seek role models who reflect their emotional struggle.
Drawing from this insight, the project revisits the figure of Virginia Woolf — one of the most influential writers in history, whose life was marked by both extraordinary creativity and mental illness. Rather than focusing on her death, The work reimagines her life by challenging tunnel vision and demonstrating that an endless number of alternatives exist
The film is narrated using Woolf’s original voice and written in a literary style generated by artificial intelligence trained exclusively on her complete body of work. Visually, it blends historical moments, people from her life, and photographs contributed by Teléfono de la Esperanza community, creating an experience that collapses time and invites connection.
By transforming a familiar cultural figure into a source of hope, the project seeks to widen perception and remind viewers that pain, identity, and life itself are not static — and that other alternatives always exist.
