Addressing pediatric palliative care on screen is an immense creative and emotional challenge. Choco and Nano approaches this delicate subject through the language of imagination, using a two-headed imaginary friend as a way to preserve a sense of tenderness and respect children.
The creature becomes a metaphor for the internal conflict experienced by parents and society alike: hope and denial, anger and acceptance, despair and love. Its two voices embody the emotional turbulence that emerges when medicine reaches its limits and certainty disappears.
Through this symbolic narrative, the film reflects on what remains when there is no cure: presence, companionship, dignity, and care. It is here that the Porque Viven Foundation gives meaning to time, accompanying children and families through one of life’s most fragile passages, ensuring that every remaining day can still hold connection, warmth, and humanity.
