“Everyone Except” is a short film, co-written with teens, exposing the dark side of online group chats. Private spaces dominating lives, defining status and self-worth, weaponised as the group name is changed to “Everyone Except [Name]”. The exclusion is public, the shame absolute. Desperate teens will do anything to get back in. Dutch telco KPN believes in a #BetterInternet. To combat this disturbing trend, the film dramatises the moment of exclusion, placing the viewer uncomfortably inside the group. Unfolding across platforms and into classrooms, it forces a choice: do nothing or stand up?
